how come movies and new released dvds always tend to be release on tuesdays for dvds and fridays for movies?

ive always wanted to know how come those days were picked. whats so special about tuesday and fridays and not the other days of the week? if anyone has a great answer, ill love to hear about it.

It is because for videos: it’s so the rental stores can get the movies out for “in home” use that is more common during the weekdays.
For theaters: the most people go to the movies on weekends. Just about everything in the business world revolves around making more $$$$
