Is Sony Movie Studio 9 soft ware compatible with an HD camera?
I have a new pc and I want to do some editing for my public access show and put stuff up on you tube. I have Sony Movie Studio 9 which was a gift (that I hadn’t used yet,lol). But my camera is a High Definition sony video camera. Do I need new software or is the Movie studio 9 still gonna work with a HD camera. I am soooooo new at this so any advice dummed down will be much appreciated.

Movie Studio 9 *should* be able to deal with High Definition (HDV format from miniDV tape based camcorders) video or AVCHD format video (in MTS/MT2S files from flash memory, hard disc drive or DVD based consumer camcorders)…
What You Did not tell us is what the source of that high definition video is (which camcorder – manufacturer and model number) or what computer (hardware manufacturer, CPU clock speed, RAM and available hard drive space and available connections for the camcorder).
The editing application is only a part of the whole system and the “system” can only work if all the components can work together.
The Movie Studio 9 box will have a list of minimum requirements for the computer environment – you would be wise to exceed these requirements.
